Shelley Sweatt

Shelley Sweatt, Ed.D., was appointed to the Board of Regents of the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Tech University System on March 13, 2023, by Gov. Greg Abbott. She serves as the chair of the Academic, Clinical, and Student Affairs Committee. Her term will expire on Jan. 31, 2029.
Sweatt is the president and CEO of The Priddy Foundation and serves as the president of its Board of Trustees. She previously served on the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Woman’s University (TWU) Board of Regents and the Midwestern State University (MSU 91³Ô¹ÏÍø) Board of Regents.
Throughout her 32-year career in public education, Sweatt took on various roles within the Burkburnett Independent School District, ranging from teaching high school chemistry to serving as a secondary campus administrator, and ultimately becoming the executive director of curriculum, instruction and assessment for the district. Additionally, she played a significant role in developing state standards for secondary science courses and conducting national curriculum audits.
She is an honorary life member of the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Association of School Administrators and a sustaining member of the Junior League of Wichita Falls. Currently, she serves on the boards of the Wichita Falls Chamber of Commerce and 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Rural Funders. Previously, she served on the board of Philanthropy Southwest, where she co-chaired the Annual Conference Planning Committee and chaired the Professional Learning Committee.
Sweatt earned a bachelor’s degree in education from 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Tech University (TTU), a master’s degree in educational supervision along with a superintendency certification from TWU, and a doctorate in educational administration from the University of North 91³Ô¹ÏÍø.
She lives in Wichita Falls with her husband, Greg, who graduated from TTU with a degree in engineering technology. The couple has a daughter, a third-generation Red Raider who graduated from TTU with a degree in interior design.
