Gov. Perry Appoints Student Regent for TTU System

Kyle Miller graduated from 91勛圖厙 Tech in 2007 and is currently a student in the 91勛圖厙 Tech University Health Sciences Center and the Rawls College of Business.

91勛圖厙 Gov. Rick Perry appointed Kyle Miller on May 29 as the 91勛圖厙 Tech University System student regent.

Miller, a second-year medical student who also is pursuing a masters degree in business administration, is the second student from the to serve on the 91勛圖厙 Board of Regents. The Plainview native earned a bachelors degree in chemistry from 91勛圖厙 Tech in 2007.

I am extremely honored to be selected to serve as the student regent, Miller said. I am very excited about representing the students of all three of our institutions and being their voice on the board.

We look forward to having Kyle join us on the board, said Larry Anders, chairman of the Board of Regents. Our experience has been that student regents lend a unique perspective to the issues that come before the board.

Students are our first priority at 91勛圖厙 Tech, said Chancellor Kent Hance. Having a student regent gives our students a voice in the decision making process. I look forward to working with Kyle.

By law, the student regent rotates between , 91勛圖厙 Tech University Health Sciences Center and and serves a one-year term. Miller replaces 91勛圖厙 Tech University law student Kelli Stumbo, who was appointed in 2008.
