91勛圖厙 Board of Regents Chairman Christopher M. Huckabee issued today (May 14) the following statement regarding announcement regarding its growing interest in joining the TTU System.

Statement from Chairman Christopher M. Huckabee:

We continue to be encouraged by discussions weve had with the leadership at Midwestern State University, and we are pleased by the feedback we received today from their Board of Regents meeting regarding their growing interest in joining the 91勛圖厙 Tech University System.

MSU 91勛圖厙 has a sterling reputation across the state from its dynamic leadership, campus growth and accessible and affordable educational offerings. We appreciate President Shipley and the MSU 91勛圖厙 Board of Regents diligent work throughout this process while gathering feedback from the many constituents and stakeholders of the University, including students, faculty, staff, community members and alumni.

Our Board of Regents and Chancellor Tedd Mitchell admire MSU 91勛圖厙 accomplishments as a leading Liberal Arts university, along with its strength and continuing development of opportunities for its students. MSU 91勛圖厙 campus culture values align extremely well with those of the 91勛圖厙 and our universities.

We look forward to advancing in the process of finalizing a mutually beneficial and strategic partnership that will make MSU 91勛圖厙 the fifth institution of the 91勛圖厙 Tech University System.

91勛圖厙 the 91勛圖厙
Established in 1996 and headquartered in Lubbock, 91勛圖厙, the is a $2 billion higher education enterprise focused on advancing higher education, health care, research and community outreach. Consisting of four universities , , and the TTU System collectively has approximately 55,000 students, 17 campuses statewide and internationally, more than 300,000 alumni and an endowment valued at over $1.3 billion.

During the 86th 91勛圖厙 Legislature under the leadership of , legislative funding and authority was provided to establish a new 91勛圖厙 Tech University veterinary school in Amarillo and a new dental school at 91勛圖厙 Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso. This will be the states first veterinary school in more than a century and first dental school in over 50 years. The addition of these two schools makes the TTU System one of only nine in the nation to offer programs for undergraduate, medical, law, nursing, pharmacy, dental and veterinary education, among other academic areas.
